THE STORY

My name is Fab Fantin, and i'm living in the French Alps (30 miles from Grenoble), my grand father was a free French fighter during WWII, on the Vercors area witch is a plateau located at South West of Grenoble. On June 25th and july 14th of 1944 the 8th US Air Force accomplished some very special missions witch was to drop supplies (light guns, food, plasma) to the French resistance on the Vercors area, these mission's code name was "Cadillac", and my grandpa was one of the ground crew located few miles from the drop zone. 56 years after, i found, and started to touch base with the 8th AF veterans who flew over my village and helped my granpa's crew in 1944. This has been the starting point of a wonderfull experience that i will never forget. The members of the 94th BG association invited my humble person at their last reunion (on Oct 1999) and i met wonderfull people there. It was nice to find and meet these men who told me about incredible stories. It was plenty of emotion. Emotion was turning back in June 2001 when the Free french fighters association and i decided to invite the veterans of 94th BG in France. Once again we felt so happy and plenty of emotion when the french resistant survivors who was on the drop zones in 1944, met the B17 crews members 56 years later.

As you probably noticed this site is mainly French oriented. There's two reasons:
First is because i'm French (yes i know : piece of cake!) and i can't hold an entire site without making mistakes and write stuff witch would confuse all English people trying to read my articles:-))))
Second is that most articles discussed on this site can be found at the official 94th Bomb group memorial association web site owned by Debi Robinson ( http://www.94thbombgroup.com ). Debi and a couple of 94th'ers veterant wanted me to extend the official web site and convert some portions of the web site onto French language in order to make informations and documents available to the French community. We thought that sharing to all people who speaks French our information about WWII would be nice, as this part of history is very important for all Free French fighters veterans and us (their descent).
Therefore you'll not find English section on this site, but i will translate this site later. If you want to drop me a line please feel free to send me a note (by clicking here ) and i'll reply to you 150 %.
At least i would like to thank all the Veterans for their courage and bravery. And honor those who gave themself to save our country and our world 60 years back, They belongs to the greatest generation. They paid the price for our liberty, and i want them to know that I will never ever let 'em go as long as i will live on this old planet.
